Central Bank of Oman, RTGS System (RTS/X)

The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) launched the Real Time Gross Settlement System in 2005 within the framework of the national project “Electronic Oman”. The hardware system was delivered by the HP company. The CMA Small Systems AB company was responsible for application software within the framework of this project. CMA developed the solution for the Bank on the basis of its product – the system of the RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) class: RTS/X. The vendor was chosen according to the results of the tender carried out by the CBO. The system was launched into live operations on September 28, 2005. The task of the project was to develop and implement an automated system of real time collection and processing of big payments. Access to the system is executed via the dedicated network providing high speed secure information exchange between the system participants and CBO. RTS/X also supports the opportunity of "shared access areas" usage in case of unforeseen connection breaks with one or several participants

Status: The system went into live operation in September 2005 according to the project schedule
