Central Bank of Libya, Clearing system solution (BCS/X)

The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) put into operation the new clearing and settlement system as part of the project for development of National Payment System. CMA Small Systems AB (CMA) was responsible for application software within the framework of this project. CMA developed the solution for the Bank on the basis of its product – Retail Payments Clearing and Settle-ment system BCS/X. The system was launched into live operations on Au-gust 17, 2008.
The Project task was to develop and implement an automated system of bulk payments collection and batch processing. Access to the system is executed via the dedicated network providing high speed secure information exchange between the system participants and CBL. BCS/X also supports the "shared access areas" in case of unforeseen connection breaks with one or several participants. CMA’s Real Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) had been already working in the CBL by the time of BCS/X implementation.
