CMA has successfully conducted performance tests of CMA’s Automatic Clearing House system (BCS/X) at HP Singapore Capacity Planning Center.
CMA’s solution for the Automated Clearing House - BCS/X, was configured to utilize seven servers: one database, one core application and five access servers. Access servers were running business logic software that represents BCS/X service to the outer world. Core server was running core micro-kernel application, which provides basic functions to the business logic servers. Database server was connected to a storage that was configured to manage BCS/X data, Oracle ASM was used to manage Oracle data. Four servers were used to simulate traffic from clients that included as payment instruction as information requests.
The performance tests simulated a workload of 20 financial institutions. During the benchmarking, the following configurations of the test stand were used:
- 2 x rx8640 (8 x Intel(R) Itanium 2 processors 16-cores, 128GB RAM, HP-UX 11i v3) Disk Array HP EVA8400 (24G Cache);
- 3 x HP ProLiant DL380 (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5570 @ 2.93GHz (2 QC processors) 8 cores, Memory 48.0 GB, Windows Server Standard SP2 (x64));
- 2 x HP ProLiant BL680 (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E7450 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz (4 HC processors) - 24 cores, Memory 64.0 GB, Windows Server Standard SP1 - 64 bit);
- 1 x HP ProLiant DL580 (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X7460 @ 2.66GHz 2.67 GHz (4 HC processors) 24 cores, Memory 64.0 GB, Windows 2008 Standard (x64));
The intended workload (6.000.000 payment instructions) was achieved with the use of the following servers:
- 1 x HP ProLiant BL680 (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E7450 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz (4 HC processors) - 24 cores, Memory 64.0 GB, Windows Server Standard SP1 - 64 bit);
- 3 x HP ProLiant BL685 (AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 8389 2.90 GHz (4 QC processors) - 16 cores, Memory 64 GB, Windows Server Enterprise SP2 - 64 bit);
The tests have demonstrated high performance of the BCS/X solution installed on the HP platform, with the possibility to process up to 6.000.000 payment instructions in less than one hour.
CMA would like to thank HP Singapore team for its assistance during these tests.
